High Level Meeting "TOWARDS GLOBAL CONVERGENCE IN TRANSPLANTATION: SUFFICIENCY, TRANSPARENCY AND OVERSIGHT", Organización Nacional de Trasplantes on the occasion of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The Spanish Presidency aims at building an EU for health, through new priorities targeted at improving the protection of the vulnerable, promoting initiatives of preparedness and response to health-care threats (as witnessed in the COVID-19 pandemic) and aligning the health-care agenda with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and One-Health. In this context, the goal of this international summit is to critically review the current situation of donation and transplantation, identify key challenges and devise the future of transplantation in the global arena.

WHERE DOES GLOBAL SUMMIT TAKE PLACE?
The Santander Transplant Summit 2023 takes place in the city of Santander, capital of the region of Cantabria, located in the north of Spain.
It is a city that combines an urban environment with the essentials of Cantabria: beaches, nature, gastronomy and culture. Santander is known as one of the most elegant and beautiful cities on the northern coast of Spain.
In addition to the comfort that its size offers to those who visit it, it is well communicated, both by air (Severiano Ballesteros Airport is 5km and Bilbao Airport 108km from the city), as well as by sea (Britanny Ferries connects Santander with Plymouth, Portsmouth and Cork).
The Hotel Santemar hosts the Global Summit and has been reserved by the organisers for all participants who wish to stay in.
